2-Hour tribute to "Groove on Down, Groove on Down the Rope"

I found this image while surfing fffound, I think. So I tried a little exercise where I would replicate it, using NO Photoshop trick whatsoever. One layer, no drawing over, no color picking, no Levels, No Image Adjustments, etc. Just trying to draw it and paint it as if I was doing it with ink and paint on paper.

Great exercise, btw. A lesson in humility :)

I don't know who owns the image, but the copyright/etc is his/her. If anyone knows the name of the owner, please let me know and I will aknowledge this and give him the proper credit.

Paintings from days of yore...

Back from my days at Vetor-Zero/Lobo.

Marcelo Souto drew these 4 backgrounds (I think the P&B pencil art is on his blog somewhere). I had to paint them based on a piece of "concept art/color key" Andre Leão did to guide the "look/mood/color palette" of the job (I don't have that piece of art with me, but it was freaking amazing!).

It was an 2D-animation advertising job for Portugal (a juice called Umbongo, if I remember correctly). On top of the backgrounds danced all kinds of animals huahuahuahua

Fun times! I spent those days painting, chatting and laughing !

Drunken Series: Mining Midget

Back from the dead! Too much 3D from work kept me away from this place.

Anyway, I was once talking to a friend about the size of an apartment we were looking and we ended up comparing it to the Halls of Moria Uhuhauahuahuau. Well, the chat went on and we came up with some absurd titles for a would-be King of the place. Bear in mind that this is just for fun, I am an Über-fan of fantasy and a recovering RPG player (well, I mostly read the rule books).

Another Friggin' Parrot!

Based on a character by Briquet. Created a new pose and modified some of the anatomy to make it "3D". Done even faster and dirtier than the previous parrot (and burning the midnight oil...)

I know I´ve said "digital no more", but I had to do this quick and dirty (well, "clean" because it was digital... haha).

Ok, enough with the digital!

Man, I've just gotta find more interesting things to paint....Anyway fellas, I decided it's time to let go of the digital medium for a while (maybe forever!!!!). I´ve been flerting with gouache, and just now I managed to grow my cojones big enough to tackle the medium! WHOA!
